Privacy

Thank you for visiting our website www.thede-witte.de (hereinafter also ‘website’). Thede & Witte Holzimport GmbH & Co, Ohepark 13, 21224 Rosengarten, Germany (hereinafter also ‘we’ or ‘us’) takes your privacy and the protection of personal data processed on our website very seriously. The following explains how and to what extent we collect data on our website.

Personal data

Personal data is information with which a person can be identified; in other words, details that can be traced back to a specific person. This typically includes the name, email address and telephone number of the person in question. In addition, data of a purely technical nature that can be allocated to a given person is also regarded as personal data.

Automatic collection of access data/server log files

When you access our website we automatically collect a range of technical data, which in some cases may also include personal data.

These are:

The above data is not combined with any other personal data that you actively provide within the scope of using the website.

Server log files containing the aforementioned data are automatically deleted after 30 days. We reserve the right to store such data for longer where the pertinent facts suggest a case of unauthorised access has taken place (for example a hacking attempt or a so-called DOS attack).

What is an IP address?

Every device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, PC) connected to the Internet is allocated an IP address. Exactly which IP address depends on the Internet access point your terminal device is using to connect to the Internet at the time. This may be the IP address allocated to you by your Internet provider, for example when you use your WLAN at home to connect to the Internet, or it may be the IP address allocated by your mobile service provider, provider of a public or private WLAN network or indeed any other Internet access point. In the currently most frequently used form (IPv4), an IP address comprises four blocks of numbers divided by dots. As a private user, you will not normally use the same IP address constantly as only temporary addresses are allocated by providers (so-called dynamic IP addresses). In the case of permanently allocated IP addresses (so-called static IP addresses), a distinct allocation of user information is in principle possible via this feature. However, aside from the purpose of tracking unauthorised access to our website, we do not use data on a personal basis, but rather purely on an anonymous basis to establish the most popular pages on our website, how many visits we receive daily and other similar information.

User profile

Within the scope of creating a user account for our T&W dealer webpages, you will be asked to enter a series of personal details. The only reason we store this information is to enable you to access the dealer webpages. You may at any time view, change or delete these details by accessing ‘User account’. It is also possible to delete the entire user account at any time.

Contacting us

If you contact us (e.g. using the contact form or by email), your user details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry itself and to facilitate any follow-up.

Right to reject data use for the purpose of advertising, market research and opinion polls

Naturally, you may at any time reject the additional use of your data for the purposes of advertising, market research and opinion polls – even where such is legally possible without your consent (e.g. postal advertising) – by simply notifying us to that effect. No cost is incurred by you other than the transmission of the notification at the basic rate. This information will not be deemed a form of consent on your part to use your data for advertising purposes.

Any forwarding of your personal data will not occur without your express approval.

Right to information

In accordance with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz), you have the right to receive information about your stored data free-of-charge and, if necessary, also a right to have such data corrected, blocked or deleted.
